DESSERT LANDSCAPES (2025)

This series is the beginning of an art and baking crossover exploration. Art making and baking are my two primary creative outlets.

I was inspired to create abstract collage landscapes by a two-week road trip through middle and western Canada and the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. After returning home, the abstract landscape idea remained, but with a twist. In the back of my mind, for many months, I’d been wondering how my art making and baking might somehow work together. I pilfered my collection of mostly vintage cookbooks and magazines for collage materials and joyfully created this limited series. Some pieces have surreal landscape textures and colors, while others are much more identifiable as desserts and rely on curiosity and humor to be “landscapes”.

Artworks in this series were created with mostly vintage cookbooks and magazines on paper, and matted.
